On the 9th March 2013 at around 4.30 am three male victims, one of whom was celebrating his eighteenth birthday, were approached at the corner of Leicester and Queensbury Streets in Carlton by a gang of males who were being confrontational. The gang then walked off but two of the gang members returned and attacked the male celebrating his birthday stabbing him to his back. The victim sustained serious injuries and was treated at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Police later arrested six males but who have all since been released pending further investigations.
