The annual report of the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT) for the for the period 2011- 2012 has showed a steady increase in the number of applications annually over the past six years.
According to the Chief Magistrate ‘the steadily increasing application numbers is a testament to the work that has been done to increase VOCAT’s community profile and make it more accessible to victims of crime’.
These numbers strongly correlate with the number of referrals generated by Victims of Crime Compensation & Counselling Services (VOCCS) and we look forward to continue working together with VOCAT in raising community awareness to victims of crime of their crime compensation entitlements.
