On Wednesday the 20-08-14 at around 9.30 am a male offender armed with a knife entered a bank on Victoria Street in Abbotsford and demanded cash from the staff. Bank staff immediately activated the security system and the offender fled empty handed along Victoria Street towards the Melbourne CBD. The offender was described as being of medium build, 165 cm in height and was wearing a dark hooded top. Detectives from Melbourne Embona are appealing for witnesses to the attempted armed bank robbery.
