On the 09-06-18 at around 12.40 am a sixteen-year-old boy was travelling on the Upfield bound train when he observed a man on a mountain bike board the train at North Melbourne. The teenager alighted at Gowrie Railway Station and walked along Jukes Road when he was approached by the man on the pushbike between William and Minoma Streets in Fawkner. The offender produced a knife and demanded the victim’s mobile phone and i-pod before fleeing the scene. The offender was described as being Caucasian, aged in his mid to late twenties, 180cm tall and unshaven and was wearing a black ‘New York’ baseball cap, grey blue hooded jumper, grey cargo pants and white runners with a black mountain bike and white helmet. Transit Safety Division detectives are appealing for public assistance to help identify the offender.
