At around 3.00 am on the 22 January 2012 a male described to be Caucasian and in his early twenties entered the Seaford Service Station  and threatened the female attendant with a knife forcing her to open the cash register before fleeing with its contents.

Such armed robberies are not an uncommon occurrence and far more consideration needs to be given to the protection of the victims working in these potentially dangerous environments. Victims offer suffer long term traumatic symptoms as a result of such crimes, particularly when weapons are used and victims threatened.

In such circumstances where a crime has occurred in a workplace the victim may be entitled to make both a Workcover and a Crime Compensation claim.
