On the 08-08-18 just before 4.30 am an offender armed with a firearm entered a convenience store on Springvale Road in Springvale South. The offender approached the front counter and demanded cash from the forty-year-old male staff member who quickly attempted to lock himself in a store room behind the counter but was shot to his arm and later conveyed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The male offender attempted to access the till but was unsuccessful and fled the scene on foot. The offender was described as being of African appearance, about 180cm tall and was wearing a beanie, black and white bandana, dark coloured top and dark coloured pants. Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad are appealing for anyone with knowledge of the armed robbery to come forward.
