On the 13-05-13 a forty-eight-year-old woman was travelling on the Frankston train when at around 2.40 pm a male in his twenties sat behind her and began to verbally abuse her. The female victim then stood up and activated the emergency button and sat next to another commuter for protection. When the train stopped at the Mentone Train Station the assailant grabbed the victim by her hair and pulled her towards the exit doors before slamming her head twice into a seat causing her to fall to the ground where he punched and kicked her. The assailant then stole her purse, bracelet and necklace before exiting the train. Transit CIU police are asking for anyone who knows anything about the incident to contact them.
