On Monday the 29-10-12 a twenty-three-year-old male stole jewellery from a jewellery store at a Preston Shopping Centre. Security Guards confronted the man as he attempted to leave the centre. The male then threatened the guards and fled. Police pursued the male who physically assaulted the police officers requiring them to deploy pepper spray to subdue him. The assailant was charged with a number of offences, including assaulting police and assault with a weapon.
