On Sunday the 30-06-13 at around 2.45 am a twenty-three-year-old female was walking along King Street in the Melbourne CBD when she was approached by a male who persisted to walk with her to North Melbourne where the male grabbed her and dragged her into a laneway. The assailant then punched the female victim several times to the head causing her to fall to the ground where he kicked her to her head before sexually assaulting her and then stole her handbag and fled. The victim sustained significant facial injuries and was treated at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
