Victims of Crime Counselling and Compensation Services provide a range of services to people who have experienced or witnessed violent crimes, including physical assault, aggravated burglaries, armed robberies, sexual abuse, stalking, domestic violence, homicide and so on.

About 80% of crime victims are adults with 20% being under eighteen years of age. Younger victims may be either the primary victim or may have witnessed family or domestic violence or other crimes, resulting in emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Victims of Crime Counselling and Compensation Services provides free services to all victims of crime throughout Victoria regardless of where they reside and has assisted over 5000 victims of crime over the past five years. Victims can refer themselves for assistance or can be referred by police, medical practitioners, employers and other third parties.
