There have been three armed robberies in the Kingston area from the 06-01-13 to the 23-01-13.

On the 23rd January 2013 at around 10.00 am three masked male assailants entered a bottle shop on Old Dandenong Road in Oakleigh South and demanded money from the forty-three-year-old Shop assistant. One assailant held a machete to the throat of the Shop Assistant while the other two assailants raided the store.

On the 6th January 2013 at around 1.35 pm the same bottle shop was targeted in a similar incident.

On the 14th January 2013 at around 2.10 pm three masked male assailants wielding machetes robbed the Clayton South Newsagency in Rosebank Avenue. The assailants jumped the counter demanding money from the thirty-three-year-old shop attendant while holding a machete to his throat. The assailants stole cash from the register as well as cigarettes.

The assailants are described as being around eighteen to nineteen years of age and of muscular build. Kingston CIU is calling for public assistance and described the robberies as very concerning as weapons have been used and they have all been carried out during normal daylight hours.
