On the 27-05-13 at around 3.00 pm a forty-year-old female was walking along a beach track in Sandringham when she was grabbed by a male assailant who dragged her into bushes where he physically assaulted her and attempted to sexually assault her. The female victim fought off the assailant and screamed for help at which time another female walker came to her aid and the assailant fled. The female victim was taken to the Monash Medical Centre for treatment. The assailant is described as being in his twenties with shoulder length blonde hair.
