Victorian Crime Statistics for the 12 months from March 2014 to March 2013:

The crime rate across Victoria increased by 5% with total number of offences up by 7.1% to 434,497 offences.

Crime against the person has increased by 0.7%, with assaults up 0.3%.

Crime against property has increased by 2%, with theft from motor vehicle up 3.4%.

Drug offences have increased by 15.5%.

Other crimes have increased by 19%, with the main offences being breaches of intervention orders.
