On the 7-3-20 at about 10.30pm local police were patrolling along View Street outside a licensed premises when they attempted to arrest a 28-year-old man for being drunk. The Kangaroo Flat man resisted arrest and allegedly assaulted a male Constable. OC spray was deployed however the man allegedly continued to assault the police officer and then a female Constable was also then allegedly assaulted by the same man. Another police unit attended the scene and assisted with the arrest of the man as wel as two other men, one aged 28 and the other aged 26. The two police members suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital for observation. Police have charged the three men with assaulting an emergency worker and affray. The trio has been bailed to appear at Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on 15 May 2020.
